This is the advertisement for Devo’s new album Something for Everybody.  It is their first album in 20 years.  Devo are known for making punk rock and new wave music. The woman shown in the advertisement seems to be very seductive for example her red lips, red nails and her eyes shut. The advertisement seems to be very focused on the person in it. The Colour scheme for it is blue and white.  The colour red connotes passion or seductiveness. The blue object what the person is putting in her mouth is the iconic head gear (energy dome) what the band wear in their gigs.  Warner brothers are shown in the advertisement which is the record label Devo use; this is unusual because Warner is known for producing films not music. The female looks like she should be advertising for a new food or hair and beauty product. The font for the advertisement is very bold and the name Devo is the biggest of the writing and is in capital letters.  This makes you focus on it more. There is pattern in the writing where the colours go from blue to grey. This makes it more appealing.  The album name something for everybody shows that they are going for a different style of music and that they are trying to appeal to a variety of people.
Overall I think we focus on the female in the picture. I think this advertisement would be appealing to men because of the seductive sense you get from it. Although from what I have seen from other images for the album they are going for a very unique style and trying to aim their music at everyone.
